Wanna Meetup? Stop Inviting People. A New Way To Meet Up.

You should stop inviting people to do things and it has nothing to do with the pandemic. It’s just outdated. Yup, invitations are dated.

Here are the 3 biggest frustrations about making plans:

  1. Inviting people to do things.
  2. Waiting for responses.
  3. Asking people to pay.

Every time you invite people to do things, you are essentially opening up a channel for a bunch of back’N’ forth messaging. We’ve all gotten that text that says: “Sorry I’m busy”, or “Can we schedule sometime next week”, or flat out silence, no response. Every time you invite people, people are obligated to respond. While I know it sounds logical, it’s actually a pain.

We’ve found the solution to all 3 frustrations- just don’t invite.

The alternative is to post your plans (private or public) and see who books. You choose who sees your postings and who gets to come. It’s a faster and easier way to get together. Festi is a place to share activities with the option to collect payments.

It’s for people who

  • Hate group chats
  • Hate calendar conflicts and back’n’forth messaging and scheduling
  • Hate chasing down RSVPs
  • Hate asking people to pay
  • Love last-minute planning

Festi does things you’ve always wished you could like…

  • Un-invite people once you know who’s in (by closing your event as full)
  • See who is free and pick and chose who can attend (choose manually accept booking)
  • No one can ever reject you (if no one books, no one knows)
  • Only good vibes (you only hear back from people who are “in”)
  • Cut the BS (no need to make up excuses for not attending- just don’t book).

Once you create your own network, it’s a faster way to get together and an easier way to collect payment. Most importantly, it’s just a fun place to browse to see what you can do with people you like.

Coming soon, in addition to following people to see things to do, you can follow hashtags. When you post an event, you can create a #hashtag group (ie:#Mike’sbackyardBBQ) and anyone who knows about the hashtag can see the event. You can have group hashtags so everyone in the group can post and book events (ie:#W&Mclass2022, or #weekendhikers88). We hope to launch this feature in Fall 2020. For a lot of us, 2020 has been a trying year, let’s try to end it with #somethingbetterin2020. Stay tuned.
